Office of the Auditor General

Lyn Provost.  Lyn Provost has been Controller and Auditor General since October 2009.  Her role is set out in the Public Audit Act 2001 and is two-fold: to ensure that the office carries out its obligation to conduct audits of public sector bodies, and report to Parliament on the results of the audits; and ensure the efficient, effective, and economical management of the Office of the Auditor-General.

The person responsible for Local Government affairs in the Office of the Auditor General is Bruce Robertson.  The Local Government group manages the audit requirements for the local government and environment sectors. The group also manages the audit requirements for a number of local government related sectors including council-controlled organisations, energy companies, licensing trusts, and port companies.

The Auditor General has published a number of reports on the local government sector, which you can find here.
